Two Arrests Following London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
This incident resulted in the partial shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park.

An additional two individuals are now in custody related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals were injured by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the injured in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Police were called at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several people injured by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that police said was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
